One more point: extended-stay accommodation usually has a kitchen in every room. We decided against this at 10 Stories Stay because we expect a clear difference between guests who cook and those who do not. Uonuma, for example, has nine rooms. If only three or four cook when the property is full, a spacious shared kitchen seems better than a tiny one in every room.
Oze is different. Even if we wanted guests to use local restaurants, there are no shops nearby. The town below is an hour away, the roadside market 45 minutes, and even a small shop more than 30 minutes away. We therefore made its kitchen very spacious, assuming almost all six rooms would use it. Matsumoto’s kitchen is smaller, as many restaurants are within walking distance.
We will introduce the three properties little by little.
