Senki no Yu is a communal bath dating back to the Edo period. It once drew bathers seeking relief from ‘senki’, an old term for conditions involving pain in the intestines or lower back. Today this traditional day-use bath is loved by local residents as well as visitors from around Japan.
The source water flows directly into the bath without added heat or water. At approximately 50°C at the source, it is particularly popular with people who enjoy a very hot soak.
